Mrs. Karen Diaz Teaches: Piano, Voice, KD & Me Early Childhood, MAP, Violin
Mrs. Diaz studied at the “famed” HS of Music and Art, NY (Diploma with Music, The Boston Conservatory, MA, (BM in Music Education), and Prarie View A&M Univ., TX (MA in Applied Voice), with additional studies at Manhattan School of Music (NY), Hampton Univ. (VA), and the AMICI Summer Institute, sponsored by the National Guild of Community Schools of the Arts.
Mrs. Diaz’ study of music theatre led her to write, direct, and produce several music theatre productions for school-aged children. Mrs. Diaz also held positions of Choir Director and Minister of Music (NY, MA, TX) and Assistant Minister of Children and Youth.
Mrs. Diaz’ music expertise has included performing solo/duo concerts, workshops, and operas along the East coast and in Texas, and participating in several professional music/education organizations.
Mrs. Diaz taught music in the public school system and privately (ages 4-adult) before devoting her full energies to the development of her dream- a fine arts school. The entire Diaz family has been passionately committed to the arts in the KD community. The Diaz children, now adults, teach, tutor, perform, and produce in church and community.
