Our COVID-19 Response

In Mid-March at the height of our 2020 spring semester, the entire Houston area went on lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Just days later, KD Music and Arts responded by moving to a fully-online class schedule, and was one of Texas’ first music schools to host all its classes online. KD’s ended this memorable Spring with its first-ever online recital.

As we enter this year’s Fall semester, it’s important to us to mention some of the adjustments KD Music has made to accommodate students for the new academic year.

All Lessons Available Online, In-Person, or Hybrid

Parents are able to choose between online, hybrid (online and in-person), and in-person music lessons for the new school year. Our staff is extremely experienced in online music education, and don’t see online learning as a detriment to the learning experience, but rather as an alternative to the traditional learning experience.

KD’s 50-Point Safety and Hygiene Protocol

KD Music and Arts has introduced an extensive 50-point safety and hygiene protocol with special provisions for students, teachers, parents, staff, and parents. Some of the provisions include:

  • Touch-Free Temperature checks
  • Socially-distanced learning experiences
  • Plexiglass partitions in learning studios
  • Mandatory facemask policy
  • Staggered lesson scheduling for sanitizing and less student contact between classes.
  • Mitigation plans for students who may have been exposed (i.e. at school)

Complete list of safety precautions available from KDMA offices or by request online.
